Obsidian Strategic is delighted to introduce plans to deliver a brand-new neighbourhood on Land East of Southend Road, Billericay.

This new neighbourhood will form a natural extension in this location, providing up to 1,100 new homes and facilities. This isn’t just housing. It’s a neighbourhood that will be a genuinely vibrant community that focusses on connectivity, sustainability and well-being.

The neighbourhood will include a local centre, a community park with play areas, a public orchard, and allotments – creating spaces for leisure, nature, and everyday convenience. New green links will connect the neighbourhood to the local amenities at Barleylands Farm, enhancing access and encouraging active travel.

• Basildon Council has identified this site for residential use in the wider H1 allocation, according to the Regulation 18 draft Local Plan.

• This draft allocation forms the basis of a policy justification to deliver a new neighbourhood in this location in addition to national planning policy.

• The site is adjacent to an existing community, a primary school, a solar farm and a business park. As such, the location is ideal to support a new neighbourhood and is ideally placed to support Basildon’s ambitious growth aspirations.
